MESSAGE FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Welcome to our new chamber website and thank you for
taking the time to visit our site. I consider it a privilege to be the new
Executive Director for the Richmond Chamber of Commerce. I am optimistic and
eager to see what the future has in store for us.
We began the year with a new vision and mission statement, crafted
specifically to reiterate our devotion to the community through hard work,
maintaining strong unions with the cities of Richmond and Berea, Fiscal Court,
Berea Chamber of Commerce as well as EKU and Madison County Schools. It is
my vision for the chamber to build strong partnerships with all organizations
here in Madison County. Every entity has its own identity and
responsibilities, but it is my dream for us to take all of those resources and
channel them towards the greater good of our community.
Member involvement also serves as a pertinent aspect in our journey.
Your role, as a member, is vital to the success of all areas of growth within
our chamber. It is this task that I charge you with: uphold our
organization as we uphold yours in an effort to create camaraderie and the
epitome of a united community. Our doors are open and we invite you… no,
we challenge you to cross our threshold and share your ideas and concerns.
Dr. Joachim Knuf of the UK engineering department has been quoted saying,
“people don’t hate change, they hate being changed.” Change is good
because it means we have an opportunity to make things better, but we sincerely
want your participation and involvement so that whatever changes we make will
come from a shared interest in our beloved home.
Let me reiterate how honored I am to be a part of this organization and am
humbled to have the support of such an extraordinary group of people. I
ask you to rally behind me in the forthcoming year as we work together to uphold
our community and each other, so that we may one day look back with pride at
what we have accomplished together.
