Message from the Executive Director
Welcome to our new Chamber website, and thank you for taking the time to visit us! As our vision states, the Richmond Chamber aspires to improve the economic vitality and quality of life in this region.
A top priority of 2013 is the creation and execution of an Economic Development Strategic Plan for Richmond and Madison County. The Chamber, along with the cities of Richmond and Berea, Madison County Fiscal Court, Eastern Kentucky University, Berea College and Madison County Schools seek to constantly grow business within our county, improve opportunities of employment, and enhance the partnership between education and business.
It is my vision for the chamber to build strong partnerships with all organizations here in Madison County. Every entity has its own identity and responsibilities, but it is my dream for us to take all of those resources and channel them towards the greater good of our community.
Member involvement also serves as a pertinent aspect in our journey. Your role as a Chamber member and community advocate is vital to the success of all areas of growth within our organization. It is this task that I charge you with: uphold our organization as we uphold yours in an effort to create camaraderie and the epitome of a united community. We challenge you to cross our threshold and share your ideas and concerns. Dr. Joachim Knuf of the UK engineering department has been quoted saying, “people don’t hate change, they hate being changed.” Change is good because it means we have an opportunity to make things better, but we sincerely want your participation and involvement so that whatever changes we make will come from a shared interest in our beloved home.
I ask you to rally behind the Richmond Chamber of Commerce in the forthcoming year as we work together to uphold our community and each other, so that we may one day look back with pride at what we have accomplished together.
ThinkRichmond!
Mendi Goble, Executive Director
