Building on its previous four successful Southern Growth Policies Board Community Forums, Madison County will host its fifth forum, "Madison County: Looking Toward the Future," on Friday, Feb. 1 at 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at EKU's Perkins Building.
The community forum, facilitated by the EKU Facilitation Center and Southern Growth, is open to members of the Richmond and Berea Chambers of Commerce and selected local high school student leaders. The community forum is a vital part of an ongoing effort with the Southern Growth Policies Board to assist Richmond, Berea and Madison County with the development and implementation of a comprehensive economic development plan. Your input is critical to the success of this project.
As a forum participant, you will be joining others across Madison County who are optimistic about the future of our county. The Madison County Economic Development Plan Project Leadership Team and Southern Growth need ideas from you and other community leaders on topics such as workforce readiness, education, entrepreneurship, industrial and retail development, tourism, arts and quality of life issues, healthcare, agribusiness, the Madison County Airport, Blue Grass Army Depot and other relevant topics of interest to our citizens.
The format for the community forum will feature small group interaction expanding to a room-wide review of ideas. The lunch will feature a panel discussion of local industrial HR managers moderated by Madison County Superintendent of Schools Tommy Floyd.
